Model AD3002-1A5-E. When I power on drive, the charge unit light is on.. but the power light to the remote interface JVOP-112 does not come on until you tap the top of the drive numerous times. Don't see any visible signs of damage to circuit board or pins. Would appreciate any suggestions to troubleshoot why??? _________________ Mary McPherson |

Dear Customer,
I cannot be certain as to causes, but I would suspect a bad connection in a number of different places.
When using the JVOP-112, there is a cable that connects between the drive and remote operator. Customer should make sure the contact points are not corroded or dirty. This can result in bad connection that may get corrected when tapped.
Also, if the cable is flexxed repeated over a long period of time, there may be a break in the strands of wires. This can result in intermittent connections.
In addition, soldered elements on the circuit cards either on the adapter (mounted in the drive) or the JVOP-112 could have come unsoldered. This can be the result of thermal cycling resulting in thermal expansion or vibration either of which can result in mechanical breaks.
The AF3000 is an older drive so parts are unfortunately are not available. Sumitomo would be glad to assist in replacing with a newer drive if required.
Sincerely,
John Kauffman |
